With as low as 2 technicians, each mobile lab can undertake 1500 to 3000 tests per day and allows to process samples 24 hours continuously, claimed the Pune –based company.
The mobile vans are powered by automated Compact XL machines which tests 3 times faster than the conventional labs due to parallel processing and automated handling.
Speaking about the development, Mylab Discovery Solutions managing director Hasmukh Rawal in an exclusive interview with ETHealthworld said, “Most of the RT-PCR labs are mostly in tier A cities as these are costly to set up, operate and needs the expertise to run. At district and village levels, transporting all these samples from different areas to one central lab increases the pressure and time of case reporting. This is the problem that India is facing right now.”
Rawal believes the mobile labs not only help in reducing the cost of capex as compared to a physical setup but will be critical in reaching areas where testing is the need of the hour.
Mylab has already made two labs functional in Mumbai, and three more are being rolled out within this week –Pune, Mumbai and Goa. The company is seeing rising demand for its mobile vans and are in talks with Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi, Rawal shared.
We have been working on this project for the last 4-5 months and are ready to depute 5 to 10 mobile vans to different parts of the country as per the demand for testing every week, the company MD further added.
